Larry
Pacey, President and CEO, started National Auto Parts Warehouse in 1969, as a
carburetor rebuilder.Larry’s
participation in NHRA, IHRA and AHRA drag racing led National to become a
premier warehouse distributor for speed equipment and performance product lines.
Known as National Performance Warehouse or NPW,
the company has enjoyed stability and strong growth for over forty years, and
now serves all of Florida
and South Georgia.
In the early 1980’s, NPW took advantage of the growing truck accessory business
and sourced product lines to service this new market. In the mid 1980’s,
traditional OE replacement and engine parts lines and were added to the NPW
line card. Today NPW stocks over 430 manufacturer’s lines and is a true
Warehouse Distributor, selling only to Automotive Jobbers, Machine Shops, Truck
Accessory and Performance Specialists.
In 2006, National moved into a new 125,000 square foot warehouse
facility. With triple deck shelving and pallet racking, the new complex offers
more than 350,000 square feet of warehouse shelf space and has ample room for
future growth.
2008
brought greater growth to NPW when
they purchased Southern Performance Warehouse (SPW) located in ClearwaterFlorida.
SPW had always been a respected warehouse distributor focusing on the hard core
racing and performance markets. The merger of the two companies has allowed
National to achieve an even higher level of service to their customers.
The
Clearwater
location is 40,000 square feet. It houses four phone salesmen and purchasing
offices for the performance and truck accessory product lines. All customers receive
overnight delivery from both locations.
NPW also implemented a new delivery system. This
system allows NPW to better serve their
customer’s needs and demands. Miami
customers in the Dade, Broward and Palm
Beach county areas receive deliveries twice daily. Clearwater will soon
offer similar service to customers in the TampaBay
area and surrounding cities. Any order placed by 5:00 PM from either location, will be delivered before noon the next day throughout the
remainder of Florida
and South Georgia. Full UPS, FedEx, DHL, or truck line service allows NPW to ship to customers anywhere in the world.
The eleven person multi-lingual
phone sales staff allows NPW to
offer international service to the CaribbeanIslands, as well as
Central and South America. NPW’s seven person outside sales force brings the
face to face, personal contact that their customers have come to expect from
their top supplier.
Additional customer
convenience and service is achieved through the user friendly NPW web site. The web site allows customers to look
up parts, search NPW’s inventory,
verify pricing and place orders, any time day or night. Customers can also easily
review what they have ordered to better control their inventory.
NPW
is a member of the Auto Pride and Truck Pride marketing groups of the
Independent Warehouse Distributors, LLC organization. Flying the “Auto Pride”
banner offers jobbers benefits such as interior and exterior signage, credit
card service, wearables, installer programs, and nationwide product warranties just
to mention a few.
NPW was a founding member of the AAM Parts-Pro and TotalTruckCenter marketing group. Jobbers
who sign up for the Parts Pro or TotalTruckCenter
programs are offered all the sales tools that help make them successful
competitors in today’s ever changing marketplace.
NPW
has a unique advantage in the fact that they are a Factory Fee Warehouse for thirty-two
major manufacturers such as Corteco Gaskets, Hastings/Baldwin Premium Filters, Melling
Engine Parts, Centric Brakes, StopTech Performance Brake Kits, and twenty-seven
others. This program creates a winning environment for the manufacturer, the
jobber, and NPW. It allows
manufacturer’s the flexibility to sell the mega-jobbers in the Southeast on a
direct basis, and to deliver smaller orders at a fraction of their normal operating
cost. It gives the jobber the increased profits to combat two step, mail order,
or internet competitors, who may not have the investment in buildings,
inventory, or personnel to adequately represent a product line. It allows NPW the opportunity to offer the unique combination
of competitive price, expanded inventory and daily deliveries, along with all
the services that only a full line, full service WD can provide. This gives both
manufacturers and customers an upper hand in supplying products and controlling
inventory investments.
